Abstract

The Active Contour Models (Snakes) conventionally make a contour converge to the edge of an object by shirinking the conoutr line surrounding the object. In this paper, we proprse a novel method using the "Contour Object," which is defined as an object that contains both the contour line and its interior. The Contour Object is manipulated using the mathematical morphology operations. It is very simple to expand, shrink, separate, combine the contour by our method.
