Abstract

Recently we proposed the Multiresolution Pattern Spectrum (MPS), a method to extract size distribution of image objects based on visual impression. In this paper, an optical implementation method of MPS using the Visual Area Coding Technique, and encodeing method to operate grayscale images optically while preserving visual impressions of the grayscale images, is proposed.
