I had originally studied image processing since I was a graduate student. Since then, I have been conducting research on the theory of object manipulation in images and its application to texture analysis and medical image processing, as well as research using image processing in affective ("kansei" in Japanese) sciences which quantitatively analyzes human feelings and comfort. Currently, our research interest is in "color science and visual affective science" to understand human impressions of colors and object shapes.

The followings introduce outlines of our research topics. For details, please do not hesitate to contact me, Akira Asano, by email (asano _at_ hiroshima-u.ac.jp). Please refer also my publication and oral presentation lists.
